Something orange

Editorial for Eynaim magazine for their 'Grandma' issue. The text tells a story through the eyes of a girl in the late sixties who explores her roots through old photos that she finds under the couch (most of them describe relatives who died in the Holocaust). The current text was a complete opposite to the books of my early childhood that were rich with positive thinking, values of true friendship and ideas of good triumphs over evil.
Maybe that's why I felt that I need to "protect" the young readers by using rosy cheeks and bold colors as a barrier from the realism of the text.
(Later I received an announcement that the article was cancelled).
