Buttons

Editorial for Eynaim magazine, for their “buttons” issue. The text told the story of two farmers that were hiding a Jewish boy during the Second World War. The stories are told through the eyes of the boy that pay’s for his 'stay' with five golden buttons.
After the first round of sketches I was told that my illustrations are too cheerful and need to be somewhat darker and frightening. That was a first (since I started drawing in the age of four) so I felt extremely proud.
It was also a great experience working with the graphic editor that has such a great sensitivity to illustration and character design. It made me feel the absence of such role models in my life.
